The youth national team of Ukraine successfully performed at the 48th cadet-junior and 9th youth (U21) European Championship, which took place on August 20-22 in Tampere (Finland). Having won 8 awards (2 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze), the Ukrainians took a high 5th place in the overall standings.
4 athletes of our club 💪 represented the national team 🇺🇦 of Ukraine at competitions. For the first time in the history of our "Champion" and Kyiv clubs - Ilya Bykov became the European Champion 🏆 in the category of cadets up to 57 kg.
The next day, Valeria Sergaeva became the vice-champion of Europe 2021 in the junior category up to 48 kg.
Congratulations to the athletes and the coaching staff of the national team led by Maksym Nevmerzhytsky!
But, of course, there is something to work on - because among athletes aged 18-20 (Nikita Filipov and Alexander Kicherman) we have fighters with potential higher than their results in Tampere.
